Summary

Shaw Daniels is the bane of my existence。

Always has been。 Always will be。

When we were kids, he annoyed me to no end by being good at everything。 He didn’t have to study or really even try。 Meanwhile, I tried too much and still lost to him。

Then when we were teenagers, our rivalry became twisted。 He started sabotaging all my relationships。 I retaliated by doing the same to him。

Now, we’re adults and we should be able to move on。 But when I become a physical therapist for his professional hockey team, it seems as though we can’t let go of our rival tendencies。

Suddenly, our teasing starts to border on flirting。 Bets are made and lines are crossed。 The kind of lines that once crossed … you can never go back to the way things were before。

The Golden Goal is a rivals to lovers, brother’s best-friend hockey romcom for fans of sports romance。 It has all the sizzling chemistry you love, without any explicit scenes。 Check out the first book in the More Than a Game series, an interconnected standalone series based around four men in four different sports。

Mmmkay。 The next second, she decides to go to a team party and flirt (but only with guys who don’t flirt with her… her words, not mine!) Seriously how old is she? Honestly, the entire book was one immature action, conversation and inner rant after another and I just couldn’t connect with these characters。And yes, okay。 Lots of people (adults!) on Bookstagram LOVED this book and I’m so happy for them! I just unfortunately wasn’t one of them this time around。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Very quick and easy read。 They don’t even kiss until like 80% in? (It is a closed door romance, so don’t come looking for spice。) Funniest part is the author thinking that physical therapists drive Porsches 😂。 I giggled, but it got too fluffy by the end。

Absolutely loved this book! Definitely recommended。 Such a fun story。 Enemies to love, brothers best friend, workplace, and, of course, hockey。 Sutton has a competitive and combative history with her twin brother’s best friend, Shaw。 When she starts working as a physical therapist for the hockey team Shaw plays for, they are suddenly spending much more time together。 What Sutton doesn’t know is that Shaw has been in love with her for years, and he’s on a mission to change her feelings towards hi Absolutely loved this book! I don’t know how she does it, but each Annah Conwell book I read is better than the last! This was an incredible start to this new series and I can’t wait to see what happens next! This book had me laughing, gasping, face-palming, setting the book down to try and reacquaint myself with reality, and everything in between 😂 I think I could write another full novel about my love for Shaw! This story had me giggling, crying, smiling, all in the span of 300ish pages。 I truly adore this book, and any book that Annah writes! The themes of this book are >>>We love a good brothers best friend/childhood rivals/secret pining book! I cannot wait for everyone to get their hands on a copy! I think you will just eat it up! There are so so many sweet and funny moments in this book that I thought were just so perfect。 Overall, this is an incredible romance and I highly recommend! 🤍🏒🩵⛸️ 🥅-rivals to lovers-hockey romance -brothers best friend -childhood rivals -close family A huge thank you to the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review! The Golden Goal is a dual point of view, twin brothers best friend/high school rival, closed door hockey romance。 Full of funny banter and cute, sweet moments, this is a fun intro into Annah's newest sports series。 Full of standalone books, this series set up introduces you to all of the main male characters for the upcoming books。I greatly enjoyed the banter between Shaw and Sutton, and the friendships depicted between the different sports star main characters, and I look forward to the future The Golden Goal is a dual point of view, twin brothers best friend/high school rival, closed door hockey romance。 Full of funny banter and cute, sweet moments, this is a fun intro into Annah's newest sports series。 Full of standalone books, this series set up introduces you to all of the main male characters for the upcoming books。I greatly enjoyed the banter between Shaw and Sutton, and the friendships depicted between the different sports star main characters, and I look forward to the future books in the series。 Thank you so much for the ARC, these are my honest opinions。 。。。more

That was me with The Golden Goal! I read the first two chapters and fell for these characters and the start of their story so hard! I loved that Shaw was clearly gone for Sutton, but trying to hold back (& failing) because he didn’t think he had a chance nor that his best friend was take kindly to Shaw pursuing his sister。 I loved that Sutton took awhile to allow herself to even think that Shaw was attractive without her also being disgusted by her new unwanted feelings。 It made everything that much sweeter when Shaw started getting through her walls to the point that they could have civil conversations and actually flirt with one another。 I also really loved Shaw’s inner monologues with himself about how he would successfully or unsuccessfully have a good time with Sutton or trying to change her mind about what kind of person he is!I am so excited to read more of these sporty romances and to get to know Shaw’s friends better in their own stories!Summary:Sutton finds Shaw to be the most annoying person on the planet。 She’s known him since elementary school when her twin brother and Shaw became best friends。 But that same kind of relationship was never going to be in the cards for Sutton and Shaw on their own。 Not only did Shaw do well in just about everything with little to no effort while Sutton would practically break her back trying to get the same result, but he also sabotaged every single one of her dates when they made it to their teen years。 To be fair, Sutton gave every one of Shaw’s attacks right back at him, but they never have really been able to get along。 Which may be a problem now as Sutton just got a dream job as a hockey team’s physical therapist… The same hockey team that Shaw plays for now…Shaw has been interested in his best friend’s sister, Sutton, since they were young。 However, he might not ever have a chance with her because he’s already set himself up for failure by poking the bear (a。k。a。 Sutton) at every chance he gets。 Shaw just can’t help teasing her when she manages to look even cuter sassing him back。 But now might be Shaw’s chance to try for something more with Sutton, because now they are both working for the same hockey team。 And with Sutton determined to never date a hockey player again, Shaw’s certainly got his work cut out for him… 。。。more
